Louise Pryor

Louise Pryor is now Director, Actuarial Standards at the Financial Reporting Council.

For some years Louise Pryor practiced as a software risk consultant, specialising in end user software and operational risk. She has been involved in financial modelling and risk management for over twenty years, and has extensive hands-on experience of software development and its management. She has worked as a consulting actuary in both life and general insurance, as a university lecturer in Computer Science, as a commercial software developer, and as a development manager.

Dr Pryor has an MA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge, a PhD in Computer Science from Northwestern University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and an Associate of Newnham College, Cambridge. Dr Pryor is the author of many academic papers, and has taught courses on risk management, programming, software engineering and expert systems in academia and for business.
